This is the black grille that closes the loudspeaker opening in the top of the dashboard, moulded as a single piece to the original pattern.
Nothing in the cabin has a harder life than a dash-top panel. It faces the windscreen, so it takes direct sun for hours at a time and reaches temperatures the door trim never meets. Over the years the surface goes chalky, the black lifts towards grey and the edges pull away from the dash line.

Lift the old panel gently at one end with a trim tool and press the new one down until it lies level with the dash.
